Maryland continues their success on the recruiting trail.

2016 forward Wenyen Gabriel has announced his top five and the Terps have made the cut.

According to ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein, Gabriel has a top five of Connecticut, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, and Providence. In the past, Gabriel has called Duke his “dream school,” but he has scheduled visits to multiple campuses.

According to Andrew Slater of 247Sports, Gabriel will visit Maryland (Sept. 4-6), Kentucky (Sept. 25-27), and Duke (Oct. 16-18). Gabriel will be visiting College Park the same weekend as Shenendehowa (NY) shooting guard Kevin Huerter.

Gabriel is a four-star forward that is rated as the No. 56 player in the 2016 class, according to 247Sports. He also is rated as the No. 2 player in the state of Massachussetts.

Gabriel comes from Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Mass.), which is the same school that produced UNLV big man Goodluck Okonoboh. Maryland heavily targeted Okonoboh on the recruiting trail and were right there in the end of his recruitment.

Over the course of the next month, the Terps will be hosting Gabriel, Huerter, Josh Jackson, and Brandon Robinson.

Times certainly have changed in College Park as coach Mark Turgeon has completely transformed the program into a national powerhouse. In just the past two years, the former Texas A&M boss has added the likes of Robert Carter, Diamond Stone, Rasheed Sulaimon, and Melo Trimble to the Maryland roster.

Currently, Maryland only has one commitment from point guard Anthony Cowan. Cowan appears to be the successor to Trimble once the Bishop O’Connell product departs for the NBA.
