Why this could be a loss:

The Wisconsin game screams blowout loss on so many levels. First of all, it’s on the road all the way in Madison, at a very tough venue in Camp Randall Stadium. Secondly, Wisconsin is coming off a bye week after having faced essentially no one very tough since week one (against LSU). They’re coming off games against powerhouses like Bowling Green, Western Illinois, USF, and Illinois before getting a week off to prep for the Terps. Finally, the game’s at 11:00 in the morning…central time. It’s an hour early for the Terps and worse still, it’s homecoming for Wisconsin.

And those are just off the field factors. Add in that Maryland has some major question marks at the linebacking position and they’ll be going up against one of the best running backs in college football, you’ve got to hate your chances.

Why this could be a win:

Well, let’s consider for a second that Maryland is actually a very talented team. They’ve shut down running backs before, and Wisconsin doesn’t exactly return everyone one defense. The Terps have offense that can hang with anyone when it’s clicking. The Terps come off their first homecoming game as Big Ten members against Iowa, which should be a win, and they could ride that momentum into a win against Wisconsin before the obvious grudge match against Penn State.
