Five things Maryland fans should be thankful for in 2016

The Maryland Terrapins certainly have a lot going for them in 2016.

As a whole, the state’s flagship university has a long tradition of athletic success. Maryland has very extremely successful in several sports over the past few years.

Both of the basketball programs are in very capable hands. In fact, both groups of Terps made the NCAA Tournament last season.

Maryland is also known for its talented men’s lacrosse and men’s soccer teams, who have made multiple runs for Championship Weekend. The men’s lacrosse team lost a heartbreaker against North Carolina in the national title game this past Memorial Day.

Both the football and men’s basketball programs always seemed to stay the status quo at head coach in the early 2000s, but suddenly Ralph Friedgen and Gary Williams were no longer there.

There’s been a lot of change around in College Park in recent years, but there’s still plenty to be proud of when it comes to the Terps.

Here’s our five things that Maryland fans should be thankful for this holiday season.
