Melo Trimble

For the past two offseasons, Maryland fans sat on pins and needles while they waited to hear if Melo Trimble was staying in the NBA Draft pool.

Each time, he decided to return to College Park. Trimble may have chosen to stay in the draft this past spring if his sophomore campaign was stronger.

Maryland fans should rejoice in knowing that Trimble will be around for another season.

Through five games this season, the former Bishop O’Connell (Va.) star is averaging 19.8 points and has been absolutely sensational for the Terps. Without his efforts, there’s no way that Maryland would be off to a 5-0 start.

Trimble is easily one of the top guards in the Big Ten and maybe even the entire country. He has a chance to go down as one of the top players in the program’s history.

He’s on the same level as players like Juan Dixon and Greivis Vasquez. That’s something that should be truly appreciated.

Simply put: we’re lucky to having another season with Trimble at the controls.
