Homecoming 2017 is upon College park and the Terrapins host the Indiana Hoosiers. Here is all you need to know about the game:
Coming in on a three game skid, Maryland needs to get this win in order to keep any bowl hopes alive. If they were to win this game and defeat Rutgers, the Terrapins would still need to defeat Michigan, Michigan State, or Penn State for win number six.
Indiana leads the series between these teams with a 4-1 record, and wins in the last two meetings. Maryland’s lone win against the Hoosiers came under Randy Edsall back in 2014 on the road.
Last season, Durkin and his crew were leading 21-14 at the half. But, Indiana mounted a comeback in the second half, and were able to distance themselves from letting Maryland back into it. The final score from Bloomington was 42-36 Indiana.
Also, as it was announced before this season started, Maryland will be sporting their “125th Anniversary” uniforms for Homecoming.
These uniforms are meant to replicate the threads that Maryland sported in the 1940’s when their main colors were actually black and gold.
This game has major implications for both Indiana and Maryland, and maybe the new uniforms can give the Terrapins a boost towards win number four.
