Maryland was scheduled to face Rutgers at Yankee Stadium on November 4th, but the game has changed locations.

What was supposed to be a spectacle featuring both football and wrestling at one of the most prominent baseball parks in the country, has been forced out by baseball itself.

With the incredible postseason run that the Yankees have put together, Rutgers and the New York Yankees organization simply could not promise enough time to set up the venue.

Rutgers announced this decision on their website:

"PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers doubleheader scheduled for Nov. 4 versus Maryland at Yankee Stadium has been moved to High Point Solutions Stadium. The joint decision between Rutgers and the Yankees was necessary in order to allow a sufficient amount of time to logistically stage the events in Piscataway due to the Yankees’ current postseason run.“We were looking forward to staging this historic event at Yankee Stadium,” Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs said. “With two weeks until the date, it was important for us to finalize details that help ensure our fans and our student-athletes have a one-of-a-kind experience. As a result of the Yankees’ amazing postseason run, there were operational concerns that called for us to make a decision at this time. It was agreed that moving the game to High Point Solutions Stadium was the best option under the circumstances. We value our continuing partnership with the New York Yankees and will be cheering them on this weekend and hopefully in the World Series.”The Big Ten will announce the start time and television designation for the football game at a later date. The time for wrestling will be released shortly after."

Coming into the 2017 playoffs as a wild card team, not much was expected of New York. But the team has landed themselves in a position to clinch a spot in the World Series. If they were to move on, it would be their first championship appearance since they won it all back in 2009.

For Maryland and Rutgers, neither team was expected to be in an exceptional position as this November 4th matchup came along. Fans were persuaded to possibly make this trip because of the venue, leading Maryland to offer refunds to fans whom purchased tickets.

"Because of the relocation of the events from Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York to High PointSolutions Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey, the Terrapin Ticket Office will be offering full refunds to individuals who purchased game tickets and tickets to the pregame tailgate.
