The Maryland football team was thoroughly dominated by Ohio State last week and it wasn’t pretty.

However, the Terrapins return home this Saturday to take on Northwestern in a game that is equally important for both programs.

Maryland was embarrassed by Ohio State in a 62-14 rout. The Terps had just 66 yards of total offense and the only juice came via a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown from Ty Johnson.

Backup running back Javon Leake also added a 20-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to give Maryland a little momentum before the final whistle.

Northwestern wasn’t thrashed quite as bad, but still fell to Penn State by a 31-7 decision. The Wildcats turned the ball over three times and couldn’t establish any type of offensive consistency.

Both teams are going to need this win in order to stay in contention for bowl eligibility with the halfway point of the season coming up.
