The Big Ten has consistently been one of the top conferences in the college football ranks in recent years.

Nothing happened during the first week to convince anyone otherwise. There were quite a few interesting contests that got our hearts racing this past weekend.

Ohio State opened up the season on the road against Indiana in a game that was very competitive in the first half. We also saw a dominant defensive performance from Michigan in their contest against Florida.

Even some of the Big Ten’s lesser teams came out on the losing end, but still looked solid. Purdue and Rutgers both gave ranked squads a run for their money.

The East Division is littered with even more good teams than usual. Indiana and Maryland look like they could give the top dogs a run for their money if they can keep up this kind of momentum.

Let’s take a look at how the Big Ten shakes out after a week in the books.
