The Maryland football program has sent several players to the NFL over the years.

While there weren’t any Terrapins selected in the 2017 NFL Draft, the 2016 installment saw three former Maryland players scooped up in the first five rounds. Safety Sean Davis was picked in the second round (Pittsburgh Steelers) while defensive end Yannick Ngakoue was selected in the third round (Jacksonville Jaguars) and defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson went in the fifth round (Seattle Seahawks).

In 2015, Stefon Diggs went to the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round and Darius Kilgo was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the sixth rounds.

Over the past 10 years, Maryland has had 23 players selected in the NFL Draft. 2009 saw four players picked with Darrius Heyward-Bey (Oakland Raiders), Kevin Barnes (Washington Redskins), Moise Fokou (Philadelphia Eagles), and Jaimie Thomas (Indianapolis Colts).

2012 was the only season in the last 10 that saw zero Terps picked in the draft’s seven rounds.

We decided to take a look at some of the prominent former Terps that are battling for a spot on the depth chart in training camp over the next month.
