Devon Dotson clearly saw something that he liked in College Park.

Just two days after visiting Maryland, the four-star point guard announced that he has cut his list to eight schools. The Terrapins made the cut along with the likes of Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, USC, and Wake Forest.

According to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, Dotson is rated as the No. 33 player in the country while being the eighth-best point guard and the second-best player in North Carolina. Kansas currently leads the way with five of the seven Crystal Ball predictions for Dotson’s services.

Dotson just wrapped up an unofficial visit on Monday at Maryland. He made a stop in College Park on his way to the NBA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, which began on Tuesday.

The highly-touted floor general plays on Team Charlotte on the Under Armour circuit, which is the same team that recent Terps commit Aaron Wiggins suits up for.

The Providence Day School (NC) standout is averaging 18.1 points to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Dotson also has recorded 3.1 steals and is shooting 46 percent from the floor.

Dotson was been a priority for Maryland over the past few months. During the April Live Periods, coach Mark Turgeon and his staff were front and center for a majority of his games.

Turgeon already has a sharpshooter in the 2018 class in Wiggins. Dotson’s playmaking ability would be a perfect compliment and form a very dangerous backcourt.

While the Terps do have some tough competition in Arizona and Kansas, the Team Charlotte connection with Wiggins could be a huge ace up their sleeve.
