Four-star recruit Daniel George is one of the top local players in the 2018 recruiting class.

On Sunday evening, the Oxon Hill (Md.) star wideout released his top 10 schools. Maryland was included in that group.

In addition, George is also still considering Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In 247Sports’ Composite rankings, George is tabbed as the No. 189 player in the 2018 class. The well-respected recruiting website also ranks George as the 37th-best wide receiver and the eighth-best player in the state of Maryland.

Maryland already has two pledges from a pair of local four-star recruits. DeMatha defensive tackle Austin Fontaine and offensive guard Evan Gregory committed to D.J. Durkin and his staff last month.

According to Ahmed Ghafir of InsideMDSports, he’s looking to make a decision in July and defensive backs coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim and wide receivers coach Chris Beatty lead his recruitment.

Penn State currently has all 10 Crystal Ball predictions in their favor for George’s services.

Maryland lost quite a bit of talent at the wide receiver position following the 2016 season. Levern Jacobs (439 yards & two touchdowns) and Teldrick Morgan (497 yards & four touchdowns) graduated from the program and were two of Maryland’s top three receiving leaders last season.

The Terps did heavily recruit the wideout position in the 2017 recruiting class. Tahj Capehart, Carlos Carriere, Jayden Comma, MJ Jarrell, and Sean Nelson all signed with Maryland and Capehart even flipped from Virginia Tech on National Signing Day.

Maryland certainly can never have a shortage of playmakers, so it’s definitely good news to see George still considering the Terps.
