Robby Carmody’s recruitment has really picked up since the live period began last month.

On Monday evening, Maryland joined the race as the Terrapins offered the four-star guard. Coach Mark Turgeon and his staff have watched Carmody quite a bit during the live period so far.

According to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, the Mars Area (Pa.) guard is tabbed as the No. 86 player in the country. Carmody is also ranked as the second-best player in the state of Pennsylvania and the 16th-best shooting guard in the nation.

The only player that was ranked above Carmody in the Keystone State is Westtown School guard Cameron Reddish.

Carmody has a host of high-major offers from the likes of Butler, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Syracuse. He also has a strong relationship with new Indiana coach Archie Miller, so the Hoosiers are also heavily involved in his recruitment.

Butler currently has the only Crystal Ball prediction for the Pennsylvania star’s services.

According to InsideMDSports, Carmody isn’t in any type of rush to make a decision.

Carmody is a very intriguing prospect to say the least. He’s a very strong shooter from the perimeter while also excelling at putting the ball on the floor and attacking the rim.

He can spot up and hit his shot from just about anywhere on the court. Carmody is currently averaging 19.6 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Ohio Basketball Club on the Adidas AAU circuit.

Carmody possesses great size at 6’4, so he’s an ideal fit for the Maryland backcourt.

Even though the Terps are getting involved late, his lack of a timeline could play into their favor. Turgeon could jump to the top of the race if Maryland truly wants Carmody.

Prentiss Hubb (Gonzaga) and Brandon Slater (Paul VI) are two of Maryland’s top backcourt targets at the moment. However, the Terps definitely appear to be very interested in Carmody since they offered him a scholarship at this point.
