The Maryland lacrosse team got a badly-needed win against North Carolina last weekend.

It appears that the Terrapins picked up right where they left off against No. 19 Michigan on Saturday. Maryland recorded nine first half goals on their way to a 15-8 win.

Four Terps finished with four points on the afternoon. Jared Bernhardt, Connor Kelly, and Dylan Maltz each had three goals and an assist while Matt Rambo added two goals and two assists.

Goalie Dan Morris also had a strong outing with 12 saves.

Maryland got off to a fast start on Saturday afternoon.

Just 1:34 into the game, attackman Colin Heacock drew the attention of short-stick defender Chase Young. Heacock was able to spin away from Young and buried the opening goal.

Maryland took a 2-0 lead before Michigan rattled off a pair of goals courtesy of attackmen Rocco Sutherland and Brent Noseworthy. Noseworthy ended up recording a hat trick against the Terps.

The two-man game has always been a huge staple for the Terps and it was on full display on Saturday. Matt Rambo found himself behind the cage and spotted a cutting Dylan Maltz, who buried his second goal of the game.

Maryland followed that up with two more goals to gain a 5-2 advantage.

Maltz passed up a shot and found Bernhardt, who ripped a scorching shot past goalie Tommy Heidt. Less than two minutes later, Rambo forced a turnover near midfield and fellow attackman Tim Rotanz raced down the field on the restart and buried the impressive goal.

The Terps scored five consecutive goals after the Wolverines tied the game. Maryland increased their lead up to 7-2 after Kelly and Rambo added goals.

Maryland took a 9-4 lead into halftime.

Despite Michigan coming into the game with only one loss, this game was never really in doubt. The Terps outscored the Wolverines 4-1 in the third quarter and got goals from Bernhardt, Kelly, Maltz, and Rambo.
