Linebacker is definitely a position of strength for the Knights.

Even as a reserve, Chequan Burkett had a great performance against one of the premier powerhouse programs around.

Burkett led Central Florida with nine tackles (five solo), including one for loss and a pass breakup. Along with Burkett, Errol Clarke, Shaquem Griffin, and Mark Rucker each had at least five tackles apiece and were all in the top four on the team in tackles against Michigan.

The Knights have an extremely talented group that they can rotate in and out. That’s going to be very important against a team like the Terps that loves to run the football a ton.

Central Florida should be well-prepared to face a team that runs an up-tempo offense like Maryland. After all, coach Scott Frost likes to utilize an up-tempo offense due to his time at Oregon.

The Knights front seven is going to be tested early and often. The question is if they’ll be up to the challenge.
