Charlotte

When: Dec. 20
Where: Royal Farms Arena (Baltimore)
The Skinny: Charlotte is the most recent addition to Maryland’s nonconference schedule. The Terps faced Princeton in Baltimore last Dec, in what was the first game that Maryland played in the Charm City since 1999. The 49ers are led by former NBA star Mark Price, who is entering his second season as the team’s head coach. Price spent the majority of his coaching career as an assistant in the NBA. In his first year with Charlotte, the 49ers put together a 14-19 record but did finish 9-9 in Conference USA play.

The 49ers offensive attack is led by star guard Braxton Ogbueze. Ogbueze makes a good portion of his living from beyond the arc as he shoots 42.7 percent and attempts 7.7 shots from three per contest. The Florida transfer excels in shooting threes in transition due to his quickness. Ogbueze has the pedigree to tear apart any team in the country. After all, he is a former four-star recruit and top 100 player in the country.
