Maryland Football: What we learned from Red-White Spring Game

Levern Jacobs putting 2015 season behind him
After a subpar 2015 season, wide receiver Levern Jacobs certainly made his presence known on Saturday.
Jacobs caught five passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns. The senior wideout caught 40-plus yard touchdown passes from Rowe and Shaffer.
Jacobs got off the line of scrimmage pretty quickly and was able to get open on both touchdown receptions. He only caught three touchdowns all of last season, and had just two games where he registered more than 50 receiving yards.
Jacobs has the ability to be a downfield threat while also being an underneath option for Maryland. The quarterback carousel in 2015 definitely didn’t do him any favors.
With a fair amount of depth at wideout, Jacobs cementing himself as the top option is crucial to the team’s success in 2016. He should also see his numbers increase in Bell’s more up-tempo system.
