Saturday’s Red-White Spring Game marks the unofficial start to the 2016 season for the Maryland football team.

With Randy Edsall no longer on the sidelines, new coach D.J. Durkin and his staff will look to begin a new era of Terrapin football. Durkin brings a very diverse and experienced staff that includes Walt Bell (offensive coordinator), Andy Buh (defensive coordinator), Pete Lembo (assistant head coach/special teams coordinator/tight ends), and Mike London (associate head coach/defensive line).

Lembo and London are both coming from head coaching jobs at Ball State and Virginia respectively.

Maryland is dealing with quite a bit of turnover on their roster as well.

The defense has been hit the hardest with players like Sean Davis, Quinton Jefferson, and Yannick Ngakoue moving onto the NFL. The Terps also lost three of their four starters in the secondary with cornerback William Likely being the only one back.

With a new regime ready to take over in College Park, let’s take a look at five storylines to follow on Saturday afternoon.
