No. 1 Under Armour

Maryland has always been successful when it comes to collegiate athletics. However, Under Armour has been phenomenal for the school. Under Armour has tabbed Maryland as their flagship school, which should come as no surprise with former Terp Kevin Plank at the helm. Plank is donating $25 million towards Maryland’s new football indoor practice facility that, which will be converted from the iconic Cole Field House. That will be a major selling point to recruits and will arguably rival any facility around the country.

Some outsiders may not care for the flashy uniform combinations that the Terps sport. However, it’s truly special to have an outfit like Under Armour design apparel, helmets, and uniforms specifically for a university and a concept like “Maryland Pride.” From that Black & White Ops football uniforms to the recent throwback basketball uniforms for the Georgetown game, Under Armour pulls out all the stops for every big Terps game. It’s also great for fans because they have the opportunity to purchase the same types of jerseys and other apparel that the Terps wear. The gear is always flashy and never disappoints. Maryland fans should be thankful to have a company like Under Armour behind their school. Will Under Armour ever be as big as Nike? Maybe not right now, but this clothing powerhouse continues to sponsor great college programs and they started it all with Maryland.
