No. 5 Fred Coppett/Travis Greene
Bowling Green has a duo of running backs that have plenty of talent. However, both Fred Coppet and Travis Greene were very inconsistent carrying the football last Saturday. Coppett led the Falcons with 12 carries for 63 yards, which appears to be very solid. The junior tailback had a 31-yard run and aside from that, only had 32 yards on the other 11 carries. With that being said, that’s really the type of player that Coppett is. He has a great burst and if he can get to the next level, he’s very tough to catch up with.
On the other hand, Greene is a very shifty back that can make plays as well. Against the Volunteers, he tallied nine carries for 34 yards with his longest run being 18 yards. He was a little banged up in Saturday’s game, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Coppett got the bulk of the touches against Maryland.
