No. 1 Perry Hills
The top spot should come as no surprise, given that the quarterback competition that went on during the entire offseason. Edsall tabbed Hills as the starter for the season opener last Friday. Coming into the offseason, it was expected that Caleb Rowe would be the appointed starter, but Hills impressed the coaching staff during training camp. Obviously, Hills has the experience to lead the team as he started seven games as a true freshman before tearing his ACL in 2012.
Hills is definitely who most Terp fans will be watching on Saturday. After all, this will be his first start in nearly three years. He did see action against Iowa last season in relief of Brown, but it was only in the second half. Hills could be the key to Maryland’s success if he can produce, but that’s the biggest question mark. If Hills can have a strong opener against the Spiders, it’ll go a long way towards his success this season.
