Updates

2015 offensive tackle Isaiah Prine will make his second trip to Maryland in eight days when he visits this weekend. For a guy that many sites have been saying is a “SEC lean,” Prince’s familiarity with Maryland’s program has always kept them in close contention. The four-star offensive lineman also visited when Maryland hosted Ohio State. While he came away impressed, Maryland needs to show more on the field than the turf field and flashy uniforms, especially when going up against Alabama.

2016 athlete Terrill Gillette informed me yesterday that he is close to an offer. Gillette, a teammate and close friend to Terrapin commit D.J. Moore, said that offer would not make him commit, but would “definitely make Maryland one of the top.”

2016 guard/defensive tackle Brian Plummer is a guy that is going through the early stages of his recruitment. It’ll be his second time to Maryland this year as he also visited against West Virginia.

2016 outside linebacker Jango Glackin has been actively visiting schools. Since the beginning of October, he has visited Indiana, Kentucky, Northwestern, and Michigan State. Next week, he will visit Illinois followed by a visit to Ohio State. Glackin is trying to familiarize himself with as many programs as possible before cutting his list or making any final decisions. A strong showing by Maryland could put them in good position for the highly-touted three-star.

2015 Florida State quarterback commit Kai Locksley told me he will visit this weekend. It remains to be seen whether it’s to see his dad’s team or to watch Maryland play, but given the fact that he told me about a month ago he may take official visits to Maryland and Texas, it doesn’t hurt to make a visit regardless of the reason. It should be known, I get the sense every time I talk to Locksley that it will take a lot for him to decommit from Florida State. He loves everything about the university and program, so I have a hard time seeing him opt out for any program. A couple of teammates and friends close to Locksley said they were “shocked” he picked Florida State because many expected him to end up at Texas.
