The Hawkeyes are almost always solid at the cornerback position; since 2006 they’ve sent seven of their nine full-time starters at corner to the NFL. That’s legitimately staggering, and while they lose safety Tanner Miller (53.0 tackles, 3 INT) and CB B.J. Lowery (51.0 tackles, 3 INT), they’re still ready to dominate.

Strong safety John Lowdermilk and corner Desmond King are a great tandem who finished with 113.5 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss (combined, of course) will anchor this unit. They’re young but talented, and because their front line is solid, the secondary won’t get picked on too much. THat’lll allow youngsters Maurice Fleming and Jordan Lomax to grow up quick.
