3-star OT Will McClain announced his commitment to Maryland this afternoon, giving Maryland their 15th commitment in the 2015 class. McClain is a rising senior at Middletown High School and committed to Maryland over James Madison, Temple and West Virginia.
McClain becomes the fourth lineman commitment in this class, again proving that the staff has made the offensive line a priority. McClain’s 6’5″ frame brings great size to this class and much-needed depth to the team. A strong lineman, McClain looks good in pass and run protection. With another year to develop, the lineman can make solid contributions during his tenure as a Terp.
As far as recruiting other lineman goes, Maryland is still hard on Quarvez Boulware and Isaiah Prince, who confirmed with me that Maryland is in his top six here. Nonetheless, Maryland is adding quality talent across the board. The biggest asset to his commitment is that he becomes the fifth commitment from Maryland in the 2015 class, as the staff has done a good job keeping talented guys home. With the commitment, Maryland ranks 23rd in the nation on 247 sports and jumping Nebraska for the fifth spot in the Big Ten.
