- If you couldn’t tell already, most Big Ten fans aren’t too enthused about the arrival of Maryland and Rutgers into their conference next season. There’s a sentiment that they don’t really belong with the so-called big dogs, and that finding them rivals is going to be tough work. So when the BigTenNetwork.com decides to rank Week 14 (or Rivalry Week) games in the Big Ten next year, is it any surprise where Maryland finished?
- Big question for ya: is Maryland-Penn State a simmering rivalry? What with the coaching connection (PSU coach James Franklin was head coach-in-waiting for the Terps after Ralph Friedgen) and the border connection, there’s a real chance this could be something. Even if history suggests Maryland won’t ever win another game against them. (ESPN)
- Stewart Mandel answers a big question everyone has been wondering: why did the Big Ten add Maryland and Rutgers? I think he’s got some good points (and a decent infographic) in the article, but he ignores quite a bit of fact in order to fit his argument. Comparing Maryland and Rutgers is so far off base that it’s hard to take the rest of the argument seriously.
- So that Stefon Diggs guy is pretty good. Maryland fans know about him, but the rest of the nation might be skeptical. What does ESPN think about him in relation to the rest of the B1G?
