Rufonda Moss is a 2011 safety recruit at Riverbend High School (Fredericksburg, Va.) who has had a great year – on the ground. Even though he’s drawn interest from a bevy of schools as a safety, he rushed for over 1,000 yards as a running back this past season.

Moss describes himself as a coach’s player who is “willing to do anything”. Moss had eight touchdowns this season and has over 100 tackles for his career, according to Rivals. Moss possesses a great amount of strength for his 5’10”, 195 frame – he says he benches 305 pounds and squats 435 pounds.

Moss says that Maryland is among his top ten schools. Others in his top ten include UVA and Tennessee, although he has yet to receive a scholarship offer from any school yet. He hasn’t made a visit to Maryland yet, but said he’d like to if the opportunity arises. Moss said he has heard good things about the atmosphere at Maryland and likes what the team has been doing lately.

Moss said that he will have his decision made by Signing Day, February 2nd.
