The Maryland women’s soccer team will play their second exhibition game of the year tomorrow, taking on the American University Eagles. It will be the first game in College Park of the fall 2010 athletic season.

American went 11-10 last season with a 5-2 record in Patriot League play, and lost in the Patriot League Finals to Colgate in overtime. Jasmyne Spencer scored the only goal in last year’s matchup between the two teams, as Maryland improved to 6-0 early in the season.

Eagles’ coach David Bucciero is entering his third season at American, and oversaw a drastic improvement last season from a 5-10-4 performance in 2008. American returns 20 letterwinners, including 2009 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Friederike Engel and all-league selection Brooke Sheppard. The Eagles’ top goal scorer from last year, Kelsey Brasher, graduated after last season.

This will be the Terps’ last exhibition game before the season opener on August 20th against Iona.
