Deon Long has bounced around the NFL during his brief time in the league.

On July 31, Long was cut by the Los Angeles Rams. During Tuesday’s debut episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” the reason for Long’s release was finally revealed.

HBO’s camera crew was in coach Jeff Fisher‘s office when he called in Long to speak with the former Maryland wide receiver. The Rams have a strict no-visitor policy in their team dormitories at UC-Irvine and Long had brought a woman into his room.

ProFootballTalk transcribed the below excerpt from Tuesday’s episode when Long was brought into Fisher’s office.

"“What part did you not understand?” Fisher asked Long in their meeting. “Sorry, but this is our world, man. We have rules and we have to abide by them. I thought I made myself really clear.”Later in the episode cameras caught Fisher telling his players, “I’m not f—–g going 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7…we have too much talent here for that. We had some 7-9 b——t this morning and we can’t have that.“Deon is gone. That is 7-9 b——t and we don’t need it.”"

During the exchange, Long tried to explain his way out of the situation and said that he didn’t plan to have the woman stay the night. Still, Fisher stuck to his guns and insisted that Long had to go.

Long did land on his feet as he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles this past Friday. Philadelphia is Long’s fourth NFL team after spending time with the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and most recently the Rams.

Long originally signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2015. During his two years at Maryland, he caught 83 passes for 1,084 yards and three touchdowns.
