Maryland’s depth chart has been released for this weekend’s home game against Boston College. It’s the most winnable game left on the Terps’ schedule, and it’s time for the quarterback controversy to come back in full force. Hooray.

Starting under center, we’re back with the big old OR between C.J. Brown and Danny O’Brien. For those who care, Brown is listed first, but that could just be alphabetical. The tailback and fullback positions are the same as last week, with the exception of Jeff Hernandez being listed as the official backup to Tyler Cierski at fullback. Rahsaan Moore was suspended last week, and that change is now officially reflected in the depth chart. At wide receiver, the same Marcus Leak/Quintin McCree combo backed up by Kerry Boykins and Tony Logan is there, and Matt Furstenburg and Devonte Campbell remain the two tight ends (with Furstenburg as the starter).

The offensive line is the same, except for one change – Justin Gilbert, who has been out for about a year with ACL issues, is now listed as the backup to Pete White at left guard. Gilbert was the previous starter for Maryland at left tackle, and one has to figure that he’s still recovering from the injury. Left guard is the biggest position of concern on the Terps’ o-line after the injury to Andrew Gonnella, so hopefully Gilbert can provide some depth there.

On defense, there are some changes on the interior line. Joe Vellano is still starting, but redshirt freshman Andre Monroe (who has had a great year) is now backing him up. At the other starting spot, A.J. Francis is now a co-starter with Maurice Hampton. Hampton previously was the starter but has struggled recently, and Francis has been on a hot streak as of late.

The Terps get another starter back at linebacker in Darin Drakeford, who returns to his old spot at Will with true freshman Alex Twine backing him up. With Kenny Tate out for the year, Desmond Kearse is now Mario Rowson’s backup at STAR.

Maryland released their updated depth chart for this week’s Florida State game today, and there are a few expected changes as well as a few unexpected ones. Let’s run it down.

At quarterback, C.J. Brown takes over officially for Danny O’Brien as the team’s sole quarterback. In terms of Brown’s targets, Ronnie Tyler and Kevin Dorsey are both not listed on the two-deep, leaving true freshman Marcus Leak and senior Quintin McCree as the starters with Kerry Boykins and Tony Logan also listed. Tyler had a horrible time against Clemson, dropping a key pass in the end zone, while Dorsey suffered an apparent injury during the game and was not seen in the second half.

At defensive end, Marcus Whitfield is now David Mackall’s backup, replacing transfer Alvin Thomas. Mario Rowson is the starter at STAR, over the injured Kenny Tate (who is listed as his backup), and the same deal goes for Alex Twine and Darin Drakeford at WILL. Everything else appears to be the same.

The depth chart for next week’s Clemson game has been released, with only a few changes. Most of them are important, so let’s run through them.

At quarterback, Danny O’Brien and C.J. Brown are listed as co-starters. This isn’t a surprise – Brown replaced O’Brien early in the Georgia Tech game, and coach Randy Edsall said we wouldn’t know the starting quarterback until later this week.

At left guard, Pete White replaces Andrew Gonnella as the starter, with true freshman Nate Clarke as his backup. De’Onte Arnett moves over to right guard to back up Josh Cary. Also not a surprise, as White and Clarke were high profile recruits and White saw some playing time after an injury to Justin Lewis last year.

The linebacking corps remains the same as last week, with Kenny Tate at STAR, Lorne Goree at Mike, and Demetrius Hartsfield at Will. Tate sat out the Georgia Tech game with an injury, and Hartsfield suffered an injury during the game that caused him to miss the rest of it.

Avery Graham is the new back-up kick returner, replacing Tony Logan. Graham will back up Justus Pickett, as the Terps continue to look for a solution for their special teams woes.

The Clemson game will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday. It is this year’s homecoming game.

After last week’s humiliation at the hands of Temple and the many injuries that ensued, you had to figure there would be some pretty major depth chart changes for Maryland heading into this Saturday’s in-state battle against Towson. We were doing the Profile In Terpage for Pete White when we sauntered over to UMTerps to check out what the right guard situation looked like on the official depth chart when hey! New depth chart! Let’s take a look.

Most everything looks the same, but there are a few notable differences. One – the true freshmen have been added, which makes us happy. Two – ROCK has been renamed left end, which makes us sad. Three – there are three new walk-ons, which makes us ecstatic.

So, first, with the freshmen. Except for Nate Clarke (an early enrollee), all of the true freshmen are listed at the bottom of their respective positions, behind the walk-ons and transfers. We like this, and even though it’s probably not representative of where they stand, it is representative of how much they have to work their way up. So now, the list after the jump:
