The 2017 NCAA Tournament gets underway on Thursday afternoon.

After the four play-in games were decided, Kansas State, Mount Saint Mary’s, UC Davis, and USC kept their dreams alive. All four of those contests were decided by seven points or less.

If that’s any indication, the first day of the NCAA Tournament should be very entertaining.

There’s quite a few intriguing matchups that will take place on the Tournament’s first day. The 5-12 games are nearly always great theater with the lower seeds oftentimes pulling off the upset.

Aside from Maryland/Xavier, Wisconsin/Virginia Tech and Florida State/Florida Gulf Coast are two of the most interesting games of the day. The latter is especially worth watching if Maryland tops Xavier because they’ll face the winner.

This is one of the more wide-open NCAA Tournaments in quite some time. Yes, Gonzaga, Kansas, North Carolina, and Villanova are the No. 1 seeds, but anyone can go down.

It’s going to be a fun day of basketball to say the least, so watch along with us and comment below. We’ll be popping in often to offer our insights.
