Maryland men’s basketball vs. Southern New Hampshire: Game Info, Live Stream, & More

Maryland men’s basketball is set to host Southern New Hampshire in an exhibition game, so here’s all the information you need to know about the game and a primer:

The Terrapins enter the 2015-16 season surrounded by a world of hype.

After being on the hot seat entering last season, coach Mark Turgeon responded with one of the most successful campaigns in the program’s history. Star guard Dez Wells is now gone, but there’s more starpower that will be calling College Park home this season.

Turgeon struck it rich on the transfer market with the likes of former Georgia Tech forward Robert Carter and former Duke guard Rasheed Sulaimon. Both are expected to start for the Terps and provide help on both ends of the floor.

The main attraction will likely be heralded recruit Diamond Stone. Stone has been tabbed as the No. 2 center in the 2015 class by nearly every recruiting service. Stone is an offensively-gifted big man that could be a future lottery pick in the NBA Draft.

To top off all of that, guard Melo Trimble and forward Jake Layman return in the hopes of bringing a national title to College Park. Trimble was one of the most impressive players in the Big Ten during the 2014-15 season and got the charity stripe a staggering 240 times.

If Trimble comes even close to the numbers that he put up a year ago, it could be a very special year for the Terps.

Maryland will face Division II’s Southern New Hampshire on Friday evening, which just so happens to be the alma mater of assistant coach Bino Ranson. While this is considered a tuneup game, we did see St. John’s fall to St. Thomas Aquinas College by a 32-point margin in Chris Mullin‘s Red Storm debut.
