With the season getting closer, it’s time for Media Days.

It has been announced that Maryland will send Brad Craddock, Will Likely, and Andrew Zeller.

The Big Ten’s Media Days will take place on July 30-31 in Chicago with all 14 schools sending their respective members. Some of the members will be Big Ten First Team honorees, including Michigan State’s Jack Allen and Shilique Calhoun, Rutgers’ Leonte Carroo, Minnesota’s Briean Boddy-Calhoun, and Penn State’s Anthony Zettel in addition to Craddock and Likely representing the Terps.

None of the Ohio State quarterback trio of Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett, and Cardale Jones will appear at the Media Days.

Maryland’s group is quite different than it has been in recent years. Former quarterback C.J. Brown was often a mainstay at these types of events along with former wideout Stefon Diggs.

  • These players are definitely three of the most important for Maryland in 2015.

You wouldn’t usually consider a kicker to be one of the best players on a team. However, when you have a kicker like Craddock that only missed one field goal a year ago, it puts a lot less stress on a coaching staff when the team has to settle for three points. Craddock will look to build off a stellar junior season as he was selected to the Lou Groza Award watch list for the 2015 campaign.

Likely is one of the top cornerbacks in the Big Ten and maybe even the nation. The Florida native led the Big Ten in interceptions (6) and continues to make schools look silly for not recruiting him due to his size. As in addition to impacting opposing teams’ aerial attacks, Likely also is a sound tackler as he totaled 83 tackles (66 solo).

The offensive line has been an issue for coach Randy Edsall‘s squad recently due to injuries and other off-the-field issues. However, Zeller has been one of the constants that the team has been to count on. Since appearing in nine games (three starts) as a redshirt freshman, the senior has answered the bell whenever his number was called. He started all 13 games at right guard in 2014 and was an All-Big Ten Academic selection.

With the Big Ten Media Days approaching, it’ll be interesting to find out where the experts think that the Terps and all the other teams in the conference could finish.
