Maryland Draws Wisconsin On Super Tuesday

Maryland got a little glimpse of their upcoming Big Ten schedule on Wednesday when ESPN released their SEC/Big Ten Super Tuesday schedule. Maryland, however, just got one game, but that game will be plenty.

Fourth-ranked Wisconsin will travel to the Xfinity Center on February 24 when they take on the Terrapins. A dangerous team, coach Bo Ryan will have arguably his best team in years as he returns everyone from last year’s Final Four team. With a great coach, you can bet that Ryan will have his team ready for their first matchup with the Terps.

On Maryland’s end, this will be a great opportunity to build it’s resume in order to get back into the tournament. As every big game in College Park, this will be a packed house and an always rowdy student section.

I admit, I thought it would be weird seeing Maryland’s schedule with no Duke, North Carolina or Virginia. But when you get to play teams like Wisconsin, Michigan State and Ohio State every week, it makes it much easier to like Maryland’s chances to pack Comcast and generate new history for this program.

Obviously, the Super Tuesday schedule had many of the top teams in both the SEC and Big Ten. Kentucky and Florida both have four games, while Wisconsin leads the way in the Big Ten with three games.

Nonetheless, it’s always good to see Maryland get the top teams in College Park, something the ACC refused to do last year. This year, however, Maryland needs to take advantage.
