Terrapin Takes: Weekender Edition

  • If you’re looking to catch a ton of Terrapins basketball targets, then you’re going to want to head over to NikeEYB.com for the Peach Jam in Augusta, South Carolina.  Be sure to check out their live feeds, video archives, up-to-date box scores, and pretty much anything else you want if you’re interested in playing scout for the weekend. Teams to check out? Boo Williams, Team Takeover, E1T1 (for Ben Simmons), and All Ohio Red (Esa Ahmad).
  • Of course, if you’re just interested in reading about it, Terrapin Times comes fully loaded if you’ve got the sheckles.
  • Randy Edsall has stirred up some controversy again! Last year, Rangoon went to bat for the players, saying he was in favor of fixing that janky system. This year, it was the minor dustup with James Franklin of Penn State. Now, he’s throwing shots at the ACC on his way out. Gotta love the guy. (CBSSports)
  • Apparently, James Franklin is adept at burning his professional bridges pretty thoroughly. Count Ralph Friedgen among those folks who just don’t keep in touch with Franklin anymore or otherwise don’t like the guy, says Baltimore Sun.
  • Len Bias and Charlie Wysocki are finally being honored by the school, and while Feinstein might be disgruntled about it, the overall sentiment is that this was a long time coming. Good for the school on this one. (Press Box)
  • D.J. Harvey is a phenomenal talent and guard-forward for the DeMatha Stags, which naturally means Maryland should be keeping tabs on him. Apparently so, according to Scout.com.
  • To round the recruiting scene out, it appears that local offensive lineman Isaiah Prince (no relation to Damian Prince, Maryland’s other offensive lineman) has very high interest with the Terrapins. That’s great because he took an unofficial visit with them not long ago, and happens to be one of the best linemen in the country (Scout again)

Happy weekend, folks! Countdown to B1G time.
