Let’s just say that the Maryland football program has enjoyed a nice month on the recruiting trail.
Just a week after landing New Jersey cornerback Kareem Ali, the Terrapins continue to add to their defense and received a pledge from Massaponax (VA) linebacker Gus Little.
Little’s commitment is the second in the last seven days with Anthony Wayne (OH) center Mason Zimmerman being the other. The Virginia native is the 10th member of the 2015 class for Maryland. The Massaponax product is the fourth defensive player to commit to the Terps thus far.
According to 247Sports, Little is rated as a three-star prospect and is a top 25 player in the state of Virginia. He held offers from Boston College, James Madison, Marshall, and Old Dominion with interest from Michigan State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Little was offered by Maryland on June 1 at the school’s prospect camp. He took an unofficial visit to College Park on Thursday and ended up committing.
Little is a very instinctive linebacker that plays the run extremely well. He’s also a very patient player that is comfortable staying at home and dropping into coverage.
With Marcus Whitfield having graduated and Cole being a senior, linebacker is definitely a position that coach Randy Edsall and his staff need to target and this is a great start.
