Terry Henderson to visit Maryland this weekend

After weeks of speculation, West Virginia transfer guard Terry Henderson has announced a pair of visit dates.

Henderson will visit Maryland this coming weekend and NC State on June 20, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

The Big 12 guard averaged 11.7 points-per-game for the Mountaineers this past season and announced his intentions to transfer last month. Henderson hails from Raleigh, but his father recently moved to Glen Burnie.

This is the second high profile transfer that the Terrapins will host this week. Former Georgia Tech forward Robert Carter Jr. is currently in town visiting Maryland after visiting South Carolina last weekend.

Maryland currently has two open scholarships with the losses of five scholarship players this year. That includes North Carolina A&T transfer guard Richaud Pack, who committed to the Terps last month.

It appears likely that Henderson will have to sit out a full season before being eligible. Just like Carter, the Raleigh native will have two years of eligibility remaining when he’s back on the court.

The next month is huge for the Maryland coaching staff. One or both of Henderson and Carter could be calling College Park home very soon if all goes according to plan.

Stay tuned for the latest news on both situations!
