Terrapin Takes 5/30: Terps Baseball, Dez Wells

– Dez Wells has a lot of expectations heading into the 2014 season. New teammates, newer conference, and even more responsibility. For some players, that may seem daunting, but Wells isn’t your average player. Josh Stirn over at IMS gives us the rundown on Wells’ offseason necessities.

– Speaking of new additions, transfer Richaud Pack is expected to make a decent impact on the Terps basketball roster next season. Understanding exactly where he fits in is anyone’s guess, but TestudoTimes has you covered. Expecting a ton from Pack might be a fool’s errand, but the man can shoot and shoot at an effective clip.

– The Terps football team added another piece to their 2015 recruiting class, another offensive lineman in Ellis McKennie. McKennie represents both a score on the homefront recruiting wise and a furthering of ties to football power McDonogh. As long as he stays away from James Franklin and Penn State, we’re all happy campers. From talking with the kid, though, you get the impression that McKennie is an incredibly bright individual and a quality football player.

– Terps baseball has been one of the biggest surprises of the athletic season, and now they’re set to face nearby Old Dominion in the first game of the NCAA tournament. No one in their right mind predicted this team would have a shot at the College World Series, but here they are and hopefully here to stay. The Baltimore Sun cues you in on their rise to respectability.
