Gilman four-star quarterback Kai Locksley has a mile-long list of suitors and will make his decision this fall.
According to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports, Locksley will announce his college choice at Gilman’s first game of the 2014 season. Locksley has no leaders at this point in his recruitment, but said that Auburn, Florida State, and Maryland will be there when he cuts his list.
Locksley does still have plenty of visits to get to as he is slated to visit Baylor and Texas this month. In the post, Bartow also suggests that Locksley is “contemplating a visit to Florida in June” and could take another visit to his three finalists.
Since offering Locksley back in 2012, the Gilman signal caller has taken several visits to College Park and attended Maryland’s Junior Day back in late February.
It’s no secret that Locksley has several connections to Maryland. His father, Mike Locksley, contributes a great deal to this decision. He can proclaim to his son on how he will use him in the Terps offense. We’ve seen the success that quarterback C.J. Brown has had as a dual-threat signal caller in this offense and it shows how much of an impact Locksley can have, especially early in his career. Maryland is going up against many of the top programs in the nation in his recruitment, so it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to be interesting few months with Gonzaga quarterback Nick Johns set to announce his commitment in the coming weeks in addition to Locksley in the fall.
