Terrapin Takes, 4/30: Nick Faust Moves On, Seth Allen Rumors

  • The door to Nick Faust’s Maryland career has officially been closed. Faust opted to transfer from Maryland earlier this offseason, and we now know that he’s headed to Oregon State. It’s interesting that Faust is departing from Maryland to go to a team that beat the Terps at home in front of Obama last year. I’m not one to buy into conspiracy theories but….thanks Obama. (Story courtesy of the Oregonian)
  • Don Markus over at BaltimoreSun.com gives a solid rundown of the events that have taken place recently with all these transfers in the basketball program. Faust, Peters, Cleare, and now potentially Allen and Mitchell. It’s a lot of roster turnover for a team that didn’t expect so much roster turnover. Nonetheless, Turgeon has been denying it and it isn’t official until it’s official. But why anyone else is transferring when they’re guaranteed starter minutes is a mystery.
  • Maybe you weren’t paying attention before, but the Lady Terps have won another ACC lax championship! That’s back to back now for the Lady Terps, and it’s nice to see them leave the conference with trophy in tow. Now onto the NCAA’s, where they’re considered one of the favorites to win it all this year led by Alice Mercer (Carroll County Times)
  • The Terps are in contention for a very solid offensive lineman, and it’s another recruiting battle between them and the South Carolina Gamecocks. GoGameCocks.com provides some solid info and a rundown on the matter. Personally, I like that his opinion is that Maryland is getting premier players. It shows that recruits are starting to notice the efforts Edsall’s regime has been putting in on the recruiting trail.
