Maryland’s frontcourt was an ongoing problem throughout the 2013-2014 season. Coach Mark Turgeon and his staff are already hard at work to change that.
On Tuesday afternoon, Temple forward Anthony Lee announced on the school’s student radio that he intended to transfer.
Lee will utilize the graduate transfer rule and will be eligible to play his fifth year immediately. There were rumors throughout the season that Lee was unhappy with his own play and his role in the Owl offense.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, Lee is considering a long list of schools that includes Maryland among a host of others. No timeline for a decision has been established, but the fourth-year junior did confirm that he’s looking at schools in the Midwest in order to be closer to his family.
Lee just turned in a stellar junior season in which he averaged 13.6 points-per-game and an American Athletic Conference leading 8.6 rebounds-per-game. He finished the season with 12 double-doubles for a Temple squad that only won nine games in their first year in the new conference.
