Art, Chris, and Mike talk about Maryland’s Tuesday night victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies at Comcast Center. The Terrapins held the Hokies to 18 points in the second half, while also causing 17 turnovers. Maryland shot the three ball at a high rate, which had us asking if this is the direction Coach Turgeon sees the Terrapins moving in.
Not everything from the game was positive though. Sophomore forward Charles Mitchell sat out the second half, and wasn’t on the bench for a stretch following an altercation with one of the Maryland coaches. Mike and Art gave their theories on what may or may not have happened, while Chris discussed any possible long term effects from the situation.
Next week, Maryland will tip-off in Greensboro for their final ACC Tournament run. Their seeding isn’t locked in just yet, but they will most likely be in the #8 vs #9 match-up tipping off Thursday at noon. Maryland’s potential match-up in this game is the North Carolina State Wolfpack. The crew looks ahead at this possible match-up, and sheds some praise for potential ACC Player of the Year T.J. Warren and the unbelievable season he has had.
Finale, the podcast concludes with a preview of Maryland’s final ACC regular season basketball game. What in the preseason looked to be a game between two bubble teams has turned into an NCAA Tournament outsider vs the number five team in the country, Virginia. Chris talks about Maryland’s front court vs Akil Mitchell, Mike talks about Joe Harris who torched Maryland in Charlottesville, while Art breaks down freshman point guard London Perrantes and his stellar freshman year.
