Terps Top Lax Media Poll

After jumping out to a 4-0 start and upending top-ranked Duke, the Maryland men’s lacrosse team is now the top team in all the land.

The Terrapins were named the number-one team in the latest Warrior Media Poll that was released on Monday. Maryland now boasts victories over Mount St. Mary’s, Syracuse, UMBC, and the Blue Devils to start off the season. The Terps dispatched of Duke 10-6 and received a stellar five-goal performance from senior midfielder Mike Chanenchuk.

Virginia and Duke rounded out the top three in the latest poll. The Terps now have two top ten wins in the first four games of the season.

Coming into this season, Maryland was a team that lost a ton of talent from a season ago. The Terps had one of the top recruiting classes in the country and they’ve been up to the task early on.

Maryland is a team that always seems to play their best lacrosse when the NCAA tournament rolls around. If the Terps continue to play at the level that they are, they could very well be playing in Chester on Memorial Day weekend.
