Some seasons have concluded as others have extended due to wins in the NCAA tournament. Read below to learn how Maryland fared against Providence, plus field hockey’s close match against Duke in the Final Four.
- Men’s soccer advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament last night after a 3-1 win against Providence. Led by forward Patrick Mullins, the Terps had to defend against some late scares but were able to fend off the Friars and come away with a big win. Mullins, Michael Sauers, and Jake Pace all scored for Maryland to give Sasho some room to breathe. Maryland will face U.C. Irvine at 5 PM on December 1st at Ludwig and
- Wrestling lost to Penn on Friday 19-13. Coming off a close loss against Stanford, the team was unable to rebound. The team will look to improve in its next tournament against Rutgers and Cornell this weekend in the Grapple at the Garden.
- After a stellar beginning of the year for field hockey, the team suffered their second loss of the season on Friday to Duke. The loss eliminated Maryland from the tournament as the Blue Devils advanced to the championship game. Maryland let some great scoring chances go to waste despite a close match between the teams. The season is over for Maryland, but certainly not forgotten. Maryland, ranked first in the country, will look to come back stronger next year and improve on their Final Four loss.
- Volleyball continued its downward spiral as the team fell at Pittsburgh 3-2 on Friday, then home against UNC 3-2 on Sunday. As all matches this year, the score does not show how close Maryland was to winning. The team will look to improve its play this weekend against Virginia Tech and UVA in their conclusion of the regular season.
