Miss college? Apparently the majority of college football fans do as well, according to our friends over at Discover. Their Discover Fan Loyalty Poll found that 56% of college football viewers would go back and relive one of their days in college.
Even so, there’s still a strong minority that has firmly put all those keg stands behind them; 40% of responders said they were done with college once they left it. A mere 3% couldn’t decide one way or the other. Apparently warmer weather makes fans want to head back to college even more, as 61% of Pac-12 fans veered towards going back to college. The Big-12 and Big-10 stood at 60% and 58% respectively.
Apparently the gender lines are an indicator of who misses college more, which doesn’t really surprise me. 60% of women wouldn’t mind going back and reliving a day in college compared to 54% of men. Guess those nights of shaming aren’t enough to draw men back onto campus.
When it comes to school pride, though, there are definitely fewer and fewer extremists nowadays. Per the poll, 79% of fans have never done the following:
- Getting a tattoo related to your team, 3 percent
- Painting body parts, 3 percent
- Coloring your hair, 3 percent
- Stolen the rival team’s mascot, 1 percent
- You have done more than one of these, 4 percent
- You’ve done much crazier, c’mon!, 3 percent
The Crimson Tide, meanwhile remain the fan favorite for best team in the nation at 44%. Oregon (prior to their loss to Stanford) ranked second at 14%, and Florida State at 12%. We expect that to change!
