Tyrek Cheeseboro Hit By A Bus

Maryland special teams gunner Tyrek Cheeseboro was on his way to a 6:30 a.m. meeting at the Gossett Team House on Thursday morning when he collided with a bus.

Cheeseboro was riding his bicycle north on Campus Drive when he approached a roundabout. The Maryland wide receiver and the bus each arrived at the roundabout at the very same time. According to the police, it appears that Cheeseboro and the bus driver both let each other go and ended up starting to move at the same moment.

The bus wasn’t able to stop in time and Cheeseboro made contact with the driver’s-side window, shattering the glass. The Terps wide receiver slid across the pavement and hit his head on the curb. Luckily for Cheeseboro, he didn’t suffer any broken bones. However, he did suffer a concussion. Teammates were also at the scene and immediately dialed 911. Cheeseboro did suffer a concussion last season and missed some time.

Cheeseboro didn’t see much time at wide receiver, but was listed behind number-three wideout Malcolm Culmer on this week’s two-deep depth chart. We’ll keep you up the date if there are any developments on this story. It appears that Cheeseboro will be re-evaluated next week.
