During Saturday night’s game against UConn, I’ll be having a live game thread. I encourage all Terps fans that are watching the game from home to interact with us here on the site. Leave some comments with some of your predictions for this evening and the season, as well interact with us during the game. I’ll be providing my opinions leading up to kickoff and even more during the game. Only about nine hours till kickoff.
10:31 a.m. – I’d like to welcome all Maryland fans to the open game thread!
If you’re looking to prepare for the game, we have extensive coverage here at Terrapin Station MD. If you haven’t gotten a chance to listen Art, Mike, and I’s podcast from earlier this week, check it out here! We broke down the win against Old Dominion, previewed Saturday’s match-up against UConn, and discussed last week’s ACC action.
If you’re a recruiting junkie, Steve and Ahmed recorded a podcast this week where they discussed both football and basketball recruiting at length. Make sure you give it a listen!
12:14 p.m. – It looks like former Terp and New England Patriots defensive lineman A.J. Francis will be in attendance for tonight’s game. Good to see former Terps supporting current Terps!
7:34 p.m. – Maryland wins the toss and defers to the second half. It looks like we’ll be seeing the UConn offense to start off the game.
7:36 p.m. – Great open field tackle by linebacker Matt Robinson and UConn goes three and out on their first series.
7:47 p.m. – On a second push at the goal line, Lyle McCombs gets into the end zone and the Huskies are on the board first and lead 7-0.
7:50 p.m. – The Terps are losing the battle at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. They need to adjust.
7:54 p.m. – Maryland looks out of sorts on offense. C.J. Brown has looked brutal so far. The defense will need to pick up the Terps.
7:56 p.m. – Huge diving interception by cornerback Dexter McDougle. McDougle made a great break on the Chandler Whitmer pass and the Terps force yet another turnover.
8:00 p.m. – On the first play of the drive, Brown hits Stefon Diggs on a huge crossing pattern.
8:01 p.m. - And just like that, UConn gets an interceptions of their own. Maryland was driving too.
8:09 p.m. – That’s two fourth down conversions that Maryland missed by inches.
8:25 p.m. – C.J. Brown runs it straight up the middle for a 41-yard touchdown and just like that, it’s 7-7.
