After announcing back in February of his intentions to leave the Maryland football team, former Terps offensive lineman Pete White has decided that he will be transferring to Temple. White has graduated from Maryland and will be immediately eligible for the 2013 season. The former Terp was one of several players to leave the Maryland program this offseason.
White was four-star recruit back in 2009 and was rated as the top player in the District of Columbia. The St. John’s product played in just three games in 2012, but played in all 12 (starting six) games in 2011. Back in high school, White had offers from an abundance of schools including Florida, Penn State, and Virginia.
It was never announced why exactly White decided to leave the team but he did remain at the school. He’ll now take his talent to play with the Owls. It’s a far cry from where he should’ve ended up but at least he’ll get to finish out his collegiate career playing football.
