Today, TSMD has something special for you guys: our NBA Draft live feed. Considering Alex Len is largely expected to go from first overall to back end of the lottery, we’re going to scour the ends of the earth for info so you don’t have to. We’ll fill this with every credible rumor we hear, important tweet, and concerning article we can find in a Jack Bauer-esque real-time format. Hope you enjoy it and get ready for a fantastic draft that will introduce the world (and recruits) to Lensanity.

  • Len might not go first overall because Cleveland might try to trade out of the first pick to snag him later. OKC also in the mix for things
  • At least one big, big-time recruit is taking notice of Alex Len in the draft, and we think you’re going to love who it is. That’s one of the most understated aspects of Alex Len as a Terp: the exposure he garners by major outlets that in turn gets seen by recruits. (via the Baltimore Sun)
  • It’s hard to fathom why anyone wouldn’t like Len. By all accounts he appears to be a very humble and hard working individual who can easily be viewed as a success story. Gymnast-turned-NBA lottery pick? Mackelmore would be jealous of this come up.
  • How about a little of Alex Len’s first game as a Maryland Terrapin for throwback Thursday:
  • Wojo’s ever tuned in ear is hearing that Len is the favorite in Charlotte, should he slip to #4. Great, MJ has such a great history with lottery big men…
  •  Wojo is also reporting that Cleveland has narrowed their potential choices down to Alex Len or Nerlens Noel. The Cavaliers could probably trade down and still have either big man. Let’s just hope Charlotte doesn’t end up with Len
  • According to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal, the Cavaliers brass were holding a meeting to discuss their options. I really doubt they will have their minds made up before tonight, especially with potential trades looming.
  • A little bit of action from Alex Len’s Twitter account today. Len met David Stern at the NBA Draft luncheon.
  • Looks like the draft order is set for tonight. At the 2 p.m., no trades were sent in to the league.
  •  Teammate Charles Mitchell chimed in to wish Len luck tonight. Pretty cool gesture. Seems like Len was an extremely likable guy.
  • If you haven’t gotten the chance to do so, check out TSMD’s Pick & Pop article with Chris Bengel and Mike Willis, as they discuss a whole lot of stuff Alex Len related. How do you guys think we’ll view him five years from now?
  • Interesting little factoid found on Twitter today concerning Alex Len and Nerlens Noel. I’m not entirely certain it will mean anything, but it’s definitely something to remember a few years from now if the issue of scoring between these big men ever arises:
  • Chris Sheridan, a veteran NBA writer, seemed very confident awhile ago that the Cavs were going to take Len with the first overall pick. If so, it will be scary thinking about what he’s going to do with Kyrie Irving throwing him lobs. Really would be a fantastic pairing.
  • Two of the writers here, Chris Bengel and Art Ferrer, have put out their final mock drafts for the world to judge. Both of them have Mr. Len going in the same spot, but Mr. Doug Gottlieb doesn’t have that at all, so check out his picks here.
  • Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post is at the NBA Draft, and it looks like he’s got some candid shots of Alex Len already…in a wool suit! That’s holding it down Ukrainian style, but I’m not sure if he realizes it’s the summertime. I fully expect him to lose twenty points of water weight by the time he walks up. Also, act like I’m not about to follow Prewitt on Instagram.
