Maryland Basketball Recruiting: Dwayne Morgan Moves Up Announcement Date

by Maryland

Last night it was confirmed that 2014 five-star SF had trimmed his list to three schools (Maryland, Georgetown and UNLV) and that his announcment date would remain April 5th. It is amazing how much can change in less than 24 hours, while the players in Dwayne Morgan’s recruitment have remained the same the game, time that is, has changed.

Per the Twitter account of Rivals.com National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Eric Bossi Morgan has moved his decision date up from April 5th to March 27th.

This revelation comes just one day after speculation rose from another writer, Adam Zagoria, that Morgan could in fact push back his decision a week or more. The reason for the change in date, according to Zagoria’s article, appears to stem from the fact that St. Frances Academy students will be off of school on April 5th and Morgan’s mother wants it so her son makes his announcement in front of the full student body, media and administration of the school. Per Zagoria’s article it looks like Morgan’s announcement will be carried live by ESPNU, so if you are not able to make it up to Baltimore for the announcment itself at least you will be able to watch as Morgan lets the public know where he will be attending college.
