Maryland Basketball Recruiting: Terrapins Make Final Three For Five-Star SF Dwayne Morgan

Updating you on a story from last Monday concerning the decision of 2014 five-star SF Dwayne Morgan (St. Frances Academy Baltimore, MD). It was just announced by Dwayne Wise, via Twitter, that Morgan has trimmed his list to three schools and the Maryland Terrapins have made the cut. Morgan is the consensus top recruit in the state of Maryland in the class of 2014 and arguably the most important target left on the board for the Terrapins.

Morgan has visited each school listed in his final three in some capacity since February 9th when he took his official visit to UNLV. They should be looked at as a real factor due to the relationship Morgan has with Baltimore natives Roscoe Smith and Daquan Cook both of whom play for the Runnin’ Rebels.

The following Saturday, February 16th, we know that Morgan was in attendance at the Comcast Center when the Terrapins knocked off the #2 Duke Blue Devils and that he was in the building for the Terps loss to North Carolina this past Wednesday. The Terrains have many connections helping them with Morgan outside of being the in-state school. His recruiter, Bino Ranson, is a St. Frances alum and current Terps guard Nick Faust was teammates with Morgan while the pair were at Baltimore City College.

Morgan took an unofficial visit to the Verizon Center this past Saturday for the Georgetown Hoyas win over the Syracuse Orange and, according to Evan Daniels National Recruiting Analyst for Scout.com, that will likely be the last visit for Morgan before his April 5th decision date.

Mark Turgeon and his coaching staff have put the Terrapins in position to land another local impact player from the class of 2014 in Dwayne Morgan. For the next 25 days they will have to continue to work hard to close the deal and let the next domino fall for the Terrapins 2014 recruiting class.
