Alex Len Earns All Conference Selections

It was announced earlier this afternoon that Maryland Terrapins sophomore C Alex Len had been named an honorable mention all-ACC selection as well as placed on the all-ACC defensive team. Len is the only Terrapins player tabbed with any all-ACC accolades. Len averaged 11.8 PPG, 8.1 RPG (fifth in the ACC) and 1.9 BPG (third in the ACC) while averaging only 26.6 minutes of action per contest.

Certainly the 10-man rotation that head coach Mark Turgeon employed this season hurt the sophomore big man’s chances at being selected for one of the first three all-ACC teams as no Terps player ranked in the top 20 in the conference in scoring. This also marks the first time since 2008-2009 that no Terrapins player has made the all-ACC rookie team.
